Risen Savior Lutheran Church Celebrates Inaugural Divine Service in Piedmont

Risen Savior Lutheran Church in Piedmont celebrated a significant milestone in its ministry with its Inaugural Divine Service. This marks the beginning of a new chapter for the congregation and the Oklahoma District of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS).

The service was led by Oklahoma District LCMS President Rev. Dr. David Nehrenz. Members and guests gathered to give thanks to God and rejoice in the establishment of the newest church plant in the Oklahoma District.

This first Divine Service represents the beginning of a ministry centered on the gifts Christ gives His Church through His Word and Sacraments. As the congregation begins its ministry among the people of Piedmont, it seeks to faithfully proclaim Christ crucified and risen and to gather His people around the Word of God and the Sacraments.

Church planting provides an opportunity for the Gospel to be proclaimed in communities where a Lutheran congregation has not previously been established. Through Risen Savior, the Oklahoma District is working to bring the Lutheran confession and the comfort of Christ’s promises to the Piedmont community, with the hope that more people will hear the good news of Jesus be gathered into His Church.

The inaugural Divine Service was a joyful occasion for those who have been praying and working faithfully toward the establishment of Risen Savior Lutheran Church. The Church’s ministry is ultimately the work of God, who gathers His people through His Word and sustains them in faith.

The Oklahoma District gives thanks to God for the beginning of this new congregation. The District also looks forward to supporting Risen Savior as the congregation continues to grow and establish its presence in Piedmont.

As Risen Savior Lutheran Church begins this new chapter, the Oklahoma District prays that God would richly bless its ministry. May He strengthen the congregation in faith, deepen its fellowship in Christ, and use its faithful proclamation of the Gospel to reach the people of Piedmont with the saving message of Jesus Christ.

We give thanks for this new congregation and pray that Risen Savior will remain firmly rooted in Christ and His Word as it gathers around Word and Sacrament and proclaims Christ to the community for years to come.
